About Us

The group is called Positive Management Associates (PMA) and was formed in 1978 by a group of ex MRI franchisees.

 

The group is exclusively for owners of staffing firms in the US and Canada. Some of the members are primarily in search and permanent placement and some members also offer contract and temporary staffing services.

Events

PMA hosts two events each year – Spring & Fall – and usually the meetings are held in Las Vegas since it is a convenient destination for travel. The events are held on Thursday evening and all day Friday but members often stay longer to enjoy the Vegas shows and golf.

 

Each event starts with a cocktail party and dinner on Thursday evening for members and their spouses. On Friday the meeting is from 7am – 3pm for the company owners only. Breakfast and lunch are served in the meeting room. There is also optional golf on Thursday morning for those interested.

Confidential

To avoid competitive issues there can only be one member with their main office in any city. The current  members are based in Atlanta, Cleveland, Denver, Houston, Nashville, New York, Redmond WA, Washington DC and Toronto.

 

Members discuss all facets of the staffing industry and their business, openly and confidentially. This is a peer group think tank with a set meeting agenda. Each owner shares their company’s financial information and future plans as well as discussing topics of specific interest to the group.

Learning

There is usually an expert speaker who focuses on a hot topic and they attend the meeting at their own cost. Members take turns to host each meeting and they are responsible for that meeting’s agenda.

In addition, since members get to know each other so well, they regularly speak to each other throughout the year as issues arise.

Cost

There are no membership fees. Each member pays their own expenses – flights, hotel, golf and the shared expense of the dinner and the meeting.
